Survival Dollars is a local, alternative, bartering currency created by Black Shoppers Union for all of its members: shoppers, vendors, large & small, etc. Survival Dollars can be used for all who advertise their willingness to accept Survival Dollars in barter. Survival Dollars are only valid in the five boroughs in New York City. Unlike other currencies Survival Dollars cannot migrate from New York City. Therefore Survival Dollars builds a protected market that grows benefits for shoppers, jobs and businesses for those who need it most. How Survival Dollars Work: To barter with Survival dollars you need at least one of the following: A home or mobile phone, laptop or desktop computer or access to a public phone. If you are a member or become a member you will be able to download the Survival Dollar Application to your website or mobile phone. If you only have access to a home or public phone call 212 613 5994 leave the information requested, if accepted, your personal Survival Dollar application will be on Black Shoppers Union website for only you to access via your personal PIN number that you can give orally. Once that is accomplished you can accept and spend you Survival Dollars.  To prevent theft and encourage usage Survival Dollars have an expirary date.

 Rates may vary. Businesses and individuals who accept Survival Dollars products or services will be viewed for purchasing on the union’s website and wherever else accepted, stores, street vendors, individuals. Purchasing Survival Dollars, paying taxes on goods or services purchased will be paid in American dollars using Merchants Account listed on the union’s website as the transaction vehicle.
